Luck O The Irish...

As always, I went a little overboard for St. Patrick's day this year.  Our ward did a family St. Paddy's Day Jig and this is how the Bishops went...
The leprechauns...
 The triplets...
 The Diva...
 And the oldies...
And then on Sunday we had a "Green Day Dinner".  We had 5 families over and ate green pasta with green alfredo sauce, green bean casserole, sugar snap peas and broccoli with green ranch to dip them in, green cookies, green cupcakes, green apples, green sprite with lime sherbet to drink and pretzels dipped in green chocolate...  It's an awesome thing to invite people to dinner and just tell them, "I don't care what you bring, it just has to be green..."  It worked out to be 26 kids running around my house, but it was fun.  We played boys against girls St. Patrick's Day Pictionary and then sent everyone home because it was a school night.  I just love these extra opportunities to play with my family!

Quote of the Day...

Sam - "Mom!  There was a talent show at school today and a girl did the splits all the way to the ground!"
me - "Wow.  I wish I could do the splits all the way to the ground..."
Sam - "Don't worry.  When you're 40, you'll be able to."
me - "Really?  Why?"
Sam - "Because when you're 40, you're almost dead and falling apart, so it's easier to get all the way down..."

It's never been so great, being so wrong...

We had our 20 week ultrasound today.  And it was fairly obvious that I do indeed "have the wiggles".  This baby is a boy!  (Gasp!)  The woman doing the ultrasound seemed quite sure.  It was tricky getting a great picture, but over and over, she'd say, "Oh, there it is!"
I'm kind of speechless.  Not only did I lose to Team Tom (yet again...) but really?  A boy?  I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it.  We don't have boys.  It's always a girl...  But apparently, if you keep trying longing enough, anything can happen!
Tom can't stop smirking and I randomly break out into laughter.  I can't wait to see what a Bishop boy looks like.  So far, the girls are all clones, but we (obviously) used a different cookie cutter for this one!
I'm pretty excited that I was wrong.  This certainly changes the dynamic of our family and I say, Bring it on!

Twin stats...

The twins are turning 8 on Friday.  I honestly can't believe it.  I'll do a birthday post later, but thought you'd be interested in their stats from the dr. last week...

Erin - 48 inches tall (finally 4 feet!)
Alix - 48 inches tall (15th percentile... told you they were short!)
Erin - 52.8 pounds
Alix - 52.6 pounds

I guess they're called IDENTICAL twins for a reason...
