Curb Tubs...

We live in Washington.  It drizzles.  A lot.  But sometimes we get lucky and it RAINS.  Hard.  This sends my family running out the door.  Pretty much regardless of whatever else we were doing.  We have a system for what happens next...
- grab all the towels you can find in a really, really big hurry...
- grab the custom cut, plastic drain covers your dad made for you...
- cover both drains in our little circle with the plastic...
- hold plastic sheeting down with now sopping wet towels...
- proceed to play in your new "curb tub"...

Early in the storm - enough water for splashing
 and bathing...
Later on in the storm?  We got enough rain captured to skim board!

Who needs the beach?

  1. I seriously LOVE this idea. I could go on but I don't want to sound like a suck up. Anyhoo, please tell Tom to give Ben some advice as to how to make some for us so that I can play in my street as well (note that I said "I" and not "my kids"). Thanks in advance.

  2. I'm pretty sure this is way too much fun!! :) What do you do with the plastic sheeting? Is that just for slip and slide effect?

  3. The plastic sheeting is to cover the drains so the water sticks around longer... It tends to float away, so we use towels to hold it over the drains...
