Puppy for Christmas...

A few months ago, I was in the car with Sam, driving her to school, when we had this conversation...
Sam- "Mom, I want a puppy."
me- "Oh yeah?"
Sam- "Yeah.  I want a puppy.  Or a baby.  Or a puppy."
me- "Which would you rather have?  A baby or a puppy?"
Sam- "Hmmmm.... I'd really like a baby puppy in your tummy!"

Well, Sam, there is no puppy in there, but there is a baby.  Baby Bishop the fifth will be joining our family in July.  Everyone is ecstatic and we're split pretty even on if we want a boy or girl.  Team Tom (wants a boy...) - Alix and Brooke.  Team April (wants a girl...) - Erin and Sam.  So either way, we're bound to be happy... ;)  So which "team" are you on?

And to demonstrate how good we are at this, here is some of the prior cuteness that we have blessed the earth with...

 Alix and Erin

Monkeyin' around...

For Brooke's birthday we made the yummiest discovery ever.  Pizza Monkey Bread.
It's fun to make and delicious to eat.  I don't usually do recipes, but this would be a great over-Christmas-break-we're-bored-and-hungry kind of meal...
I rolled out some pizza dough (you can make it yourself or cheat like me, and buy it pre-made at Winco...) and cut it into about 2 inch squares.
Layer on a piece of pepperoni and a little cube of mozzarella cheese.
Pinch it all together, so the toppings are sealed inside.
Now this is where I forgot to take pictures...  But I'll tell you about it anyway....  Dip the finished dough balls in melted garlic butter (I also added some italian seasoning to the butter) and throw them in a bunt pan.  We did 24 in the bunt pan and then another 24 in two bread pans and they both worked fine.  Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.  Tear off a bite of heaven and dip it in marinara sauce...  Yum.

Quote of the Day...

It's no secret that the twins are tiny on the smallish side.
For our ward party, their class is putting on a nativity.  Erin and Alix are the sheep. (there are 20 kids this age, I had to get creative with parts...)  So we are using the white shirts from the picture below and gluing hundreds of cotton balls on the back.  Some ears, a fluffy tail - you've got 2 cute sheep.
When I told the girls to go and get the shirts, this is what Alix had to say about it...

"Well, I guess since we can't out-grown them, we might as well ruin them!"

They have had them since Kindergarten.  I guess I can see why, by 2nd grade, they'd be a little sick of them...  And poor Sam.  No hand-me-downs for her.  Erin and Alix have worn everything out by the time it's too small... (or does that make Sam lucky?)

Thanks, Brooke....

We were at a baptism on Sunday.  It was quiet and peaceful.  The speakers had just been announced, and everyone was sitting quietly when a loud, rumbly toot was heard to echo through the room.  It was Sam.  She was sitting on Tom's lap, so she got some nice acoustics to it.  The room was still totally silent when Brooke leaned across her friend and I and (loudly) whispered, "Dad! Was that you?!?!?"

Quote of the Day...

Brooke was trying to convince my mom to come and visit us for Thanksgiving (I'm sadly behind in my blogging....) and then stay with us until we drive to St. George for Christmas...
mom- "Brooke, you'd be sick of me if I stayed that long."
Brooke - "If I'm not sick of my mom yet, I wouldn't get sick of you!"

I couldn't decide if it was a compliment that she wasn't sick of me, or if I should be offended by the utter disgust in her voice when she said it...
And this wasn't for nerd day.  Brooke just wears those glasses to be different... It's working, sweetie...

Thanks for following me!

If you're here, I guess you really do care!  It's kind of annoying to start over and I'm not sure how I'm going to get both blogs into one book, come January, but I'm sure I'll make it work!  Thanks for sticking around!
