Alix- "Mom! Our stupid piano has a key that keeps getting stuck down!"
me- "Sorry, sweetie. It's pretty old, and you'll have to deal..."
Erin - "Anyway, Mom's old and she still works pretty well!"

Is It Just Me?
Or are kids getting smarter these days?
Sam, at 4, can perfectly run our computer. By herself. It's a little terrifying. I get her into her, "It's called a web site, mom!" and then off she goes. She'd play all day, if her mom were nicer...

One In A Million...
Brooke came to church on Sunday with her hair beautifully straightened....
My heart did quite the flip-flop when she turned around in primary and mouthed to me, "Dad straightened my hair for me."Aw. What a great dad. Whether this baby is another daughter, or our first son,
Sorry, ladies, he's already taken...

Throwback Thursday...
Me- "I'm so cold, look at my goosebumps!"
To which (smarty pants) Trina replied, "Those aren't goosebumps, those are your KNEES!"
(In the picture, Trina is the dirty(er) one on the left and I'm the one on the right...)
Now I Know Who To Blame...
This is what mum and dad did to me when I was barely 2 years old....
Sorry, Brooke. Your mental and emotional scars from us pushing you down the water slide are really Grandma and PopPop's fault...

Quote of the Day...
Last night we were playing my Quiz Kids game (mine from when I was a little gal...). Tom got the question: If a hero is a man who saves the day, what is a heroine? Weirdly enough, Tom didn't know the answer. Brooke, however, did. Here's how she explained why it was "sooooo obvious, dad. Duh..."
"A hero is a boy, but girls have SO MUCH hair, so obviously a girl hero would be called a HAIR-oine. Anyone should know that, dad...."
Yeah dad. Anyone should know that...

Throwback Thursday...
Here's a nod to one of my finer parenting moments....
It's the summer of 2004. Brooke is 1 1/2. Macbeth family reunion. Awesome homemade water slide. Why wouldn't you just throw your baby down on her own? We did.
And obviously she loved it...
Poor girl. No wonder she's a Nervous Nelly now that she's old enough to make her own choices...
I'll be posting some old pictures and stories on Thursdays now as a way to make you laugh and have a record of some of our history before I started blogging...
